Elizabeth Peyton is primarily a painter whose subject matter focuses on friends, celebrities, and people from history. I love her watery brushstrokes and her color palettes she chooses to work within. I also love how personal some of these feel--for example "Evan with the Flu" in particular has a closeness and intimacy to it that I love.
